Hiking in Sigulda – the Switzerland of Latvia
Day trip to Sigulda: Explore Latvian Switzerland.
We are going to Sigulda and back by train (it takes 1h 10min. each way) – you will get experience by Latvian railway and the train is one of the environment-friendly ways to travel.
Afterwards, a beautiful hike (around 12-15 km) with breathtaking views over Gauja river valley with its natural and historical sites, ruins and castles – some of the most beautiful nature areas in Latvia.
The Gauja National Park often called Switzerland of Latvia by locals is the largest and oldest of the national parks in Latvia, characterized by great biological diversity, a variety of landforms, natural springs, sandstone outcrops, picturesque views and unique natural, cultural and historical monuments.
Hike tour to Kemeri National Park/Swamp
Day trip to Kemeri: One of the most popular swamp trails in Latvia offering a fabulous walk through one of the greatest raised bogs in Latvia.
We are going to Kemeri and back by train from Riga (it takes 1h each way). You will get to experience by Latvian railway and the train is one of the most environment-friendly ways to travel.
Afterwards, a beautiful hike (10-12 km) with breathtaking views. During the hike, you will be able to see the world of moss, small pine trees, deep pools, and tiny dark lakes.
Kemeri National Park is special for its great biological diversity, the unique Kemeri Bog, mineral waters and therapeutic mud found here.
Discover different Riga – seaside and Daugavgriva Lighthouse
Day trip: Discover different Riga – seaside and Daugavgriva Lighthouse.
We are going to the place, where the city meets the sea – Daugavgriva. We are taking the bus from Riga city centre (it takes around 40 min. each way) – you will get experience by public transport in Riga and the bus is one of the most environment-friendly ways to travel.
Afterwards, a beautiful hike (around 10 km) with nice views over the sea and forests, hike to Daugavgriva Lighthouse and hike. On the way to Lighthouse, you will have a chance to look at some old bunkers from Soviet times.
