Hi there!
My name is Edgar, I am the founder and owner of the Travel fare blog – www.travelfree.info, where I show people how to travel wise and where to get the best fares.
My hometown is Sigulda – the Latvian Switzerland. Exactly there I started to love nature. For the last few years, I am organizing hikes across Latvia, for locals and foreigners. I would love to show you some of the beautiful parts of Latvia.
Hiking in nature is proven to have many health benefits, like, the physical exercise you get when out on the trail, and the emotional or mental relief that comes from being in nature. Are you ready for a nature experience? If yes, let`s go for the next adventure together!

Three regions, each a full day on foot. Gauja National Park around Sigulda is the oldest and largest national park in Latvia, and the one locals call the Switzerland of Latvia for its sandstone outcrops, springs and river valley. Kemeri National Park is the bog country, walked on a boardwalk trail across one of the largest raised bogs in the country. The third is the Riga coastline, about ten kilometres of sea and forest out to the Daugavgriva Lighthouse, passing bunkers left behind from Soviet times.
Every hike is a one-day trip, guided in person. I meet groups of locals and visitors from abroad, and the walking is on marked trails and boardwalks rather than technical terrain. You can see all three routes on the homepage, book through the Airbnb Experience listing for the one you want, or simply write to me at [email protected] if you would rather arrange something directly.
More than half of Latvia is forest. There are four national parks, long stretches of white-sand coast, and a great many lakes and rivers, and almost none of it is crowded. That is the honest appeal: you can walk a bog boardwalk or a stretch of Baltic shoreline on a summer afternoon and meet very few other people.
